Our bathroom was renovated in 2009 and a new shower was installed. However there are persistent leaks in the corner where the shower base meets the wall and the baseboard. There are pockets of mould around the tiles and base. We have tried several times to clean and re-cock the areas and the problem persists.

Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much,
Andrea

Unfortunatly it sounds like the shower was built wrong. Caulking is suppose to be a first line water seal, not the only one. If you have leaks with no caulking, the bottom of the shower and about 2 feet up the walls will have to be removed and redone to fix the problem.

Drywall should not be used around water, concrete panels and proper waterproof membranes are required. Might have to remove the walls and floor area to seal it properly.
