I am renovating my basement apartment, what kind of materials should i use for an apartment as I know from past experience tenants wreck your brand new carpets with javex because their kid spilled grape juice.

I am re installing cupboards, sink, in the kitchen, bathroom needs a total reno, and also needs new flooring through out except 1 bedroom that has new uniclic...

Laminate is pretty good for tenants. It looks good, durable and possible to repair just the damaged sections. Just make sure you get laminate that is made for commercial applications, they are a lot tougher.

We build and hold some rental properties and here are some of our views on best approaches: 12mm laminate throughout a rental suite, bedrooms included. Just make sure your colour coordinate with cabinets and lighting fixtures. Tile or vinyl in bathroom (we do tile)
