We're looking at decking options for a pool. Is there a way to make wooden decking less slick when wet - a product that can be brushed on or attached for example?

Is there a way to make wooden decking less prone to splinters, or is there a type of wood that is better than others for around pools?

You can use a silica sand mixed with your paint finish to make the deck less slippery it makes a finish that gives some traction.

There are several options available for applying to create a slip resistant finish. As for a wood that is better than others around pools, Cedar is always your best bet when it comes to moisture and coping with the elements.
