Hi Amy, About 90% of a good paint job on anything is the prep work. You need to ensure that the chairs are cleaned and most or all of the gloss is removed. This doesn't necessarily mean a full sanding down to bare wood but it does mean going over every area of the chair with a light sanding to remove any residue from hands or food. Since you are painting, you could probable use 120 or 150 grit sandpaper - available at any box store. This should provide a good enough surface to accept the paint.
You could try any good quality "paint and primer" combo but the best bet would be to go into a good paint store and ask questions about durability and application requirements. Then you just follow the instructions provided.
Sounds like a fun project!
Good luck with it.

So, can someone help me how to achive not able to see the paint brush stroke?
As jim mentioned that you dont need to sand them to bare wood. remove any part with the fabric or leather on the chair. sand them enough to make the surface rough wipe it and let it dry. wipe it again and let it dry. Go to Benjamin Moore paint store and ask them for 'Alkyd Paint' and the primer. Alkyd paint are great for kitchen cabinets and furniture.
Then buy the good quality brush. dont try to save money on brush! it will cost you 15 -20 dollars. Apply primer and wait as mentioned on the paint can. then apply think layer of paint. dont try to cover the brush strokes in first coat. wait for 2-3 hours and apply second thin coat. It should cover all in 2 coats but it doesnt them app 3rd thin coat.
