I own a townhouse that was built in 1977, that has the older style cartridges and fuses. Could you provide me with an approximate cost on having this upgraded to the newer "breaker" style of panel?

Additionally, do you know where I could find a registered electrician in my area as well.

Hi Nancy

It is important that you get a number of Electrical Contractors in there to give you estimates. To determine if they are legitimate Electrical Contractors, they will have an ESA number.

Your price will vary depending on the material required, quality of the material, availability of the Electrical Contractor, etc. Realistically you can except to pay anyway from $800 to $1200 I would think.

That would be pretty standard for a panel swap. if you have to start changing our the wires from the meter because they are too short, or have to do a number of junction boxes because the individual wires are too short, etc then it start to get more expensive.

For one reason or another seems my post was scrubbed.... Imagine that..

There are good companies local to you. Licensed contractors will show licenses, insurance and offer ESA inspection reports.
