I have a bungalow with the laundry in a room on the main floor. I want to change that room into a bedroom and move the washer and dryer to the utilty room with the furnace and hot water tank in the basement. I need to know if it would be possible and an estimate on what it would cost.

Details - the room has vinyl flooring and need to remove and replace with carpet, Need to seal and remove pipes and drainage, And seal dryer vent. When installing in basement will need to set up new dryer vent as well as doing the plumbing.

Would appreciate estimates (if it can be done) on cost, time to do and what would be involved.

Thanks.

My only concern here would be drainage for the washer.

You have to locate the exit point from the basement for your sewer to ensure that it can be done easily. Venting has to be done properly as well, but in these cases a cheater vent can be used since this is only a grey water line and is only 1-1/2 inch pipe.

Electrical can be re routed easily and so can the dryer vent. Jobs like this usually take some sort of site visited to quote fairly.

You would need to take out a permit for the work, then we would sit down and go over what you would like to do, there is electrical we have to run but we can use the one the is ther right now and the plumbing as well you will need to get a few parts for plumbing, and if you want to relocate the venting for the dryerwe will need to find a good area too,

Plumbing $65 hour max 3 hours

Electrical $75 hour max 6 hours

3 Hours of plumbing time max at $65 per hour where do you reside?

How about concrete breaking and reinstatement. Amazing that you can quote a job as 3 hours when you haven't seen the basement area where the laundry is being moved to.
