How much can I expect to pay for a built in pantry? Dimensions are 8 ft tall, 7 ft wide and 2 ft deep. Material in mdf. I would like to have cabinets match in color to the existing cabinets I already have. I am looking for a price on material as well as installation. The only requirements would be that I am looking for a broom closet on one side other side would require a drawer for garbage. Pretty simple pantry but also looking for it to be symmetrical. Any ideas on what this would cost? Much appreciated. |

Hi Frances, This pantry can cost anywhere from $3000 to $5500 depending on the finish and hardware details. |

Our going rate is about $300 a linear foot plus the cost of the doors (in Ottawa). If the cabinets are made out of melamine, it will be way cheaper. Mdf is not the best product for cabinet construction, just for your information. Mdf is more suited for door construction. If your kitchen is made from solid wood, the price can go up quite a bit, depending on wood species. Also, keep in mind that if your kitchen is solid wood, depending on the age, the color may be very hard to match, as the finish ages and yellow's over time. |

Frances, It would totally depend on how many shelves and so on you are looking to have put in plus the broom rack and garbage bin, but it sounds like it would be somewhere in the ball park of $300-$600 + Supplies. This is only if you have a pantry with doors and are only looking for shelves. If you are looking for cabinets to be made then the price is a lot higher. Also if you are looking to have cabinets made then you are better to go with a solid wood as opposed to mdf. mdf is alright for shelving that you are painting but to construct cabinets with it's not as good. (Edmonton) Good Luck with your project. Thank you, Sherri & Dustin Depatie Seamless Finishing Inc. Office : 780-760-3852 Sherri : 780-297-0986 Dustin : 780-885-2231 |

Hi Frances, Given your requirements, you can probably expect pay between $3000-$5000 installed depending on the matierial and hardware. Given that you would like the MDF doors to match your exisitng cabinets, custom colour matches and custom made doors can add up. Also for inside cabinetry, we would not recommend MDF and would either recommend Particle Core Malamine (Industry Standard) or Veneer Core Maple/Birch plywood (Industry Upgrade). It sounds like what you are looking for is a cabinetry item. The fabricated item would be approx. $1500.00 . A site visit would be required to determine if preparation work would be needed prior to installation, confirm installation costs, and take site measurements.Installation may be as much as $300.00 to $500.00. All above costs do not include H.S.T and are order of magnitude budget amounts. Paul Justice Justice Construction. |
