Basement renovation
My 147 year old house has a finished basement with ugly stucco walls and ceiling with an unusable wood fireplae (exterior stack removed). I am looking for new windows, insulation, pot lights. Basement is currently two rooms approximately 26' x 21 interupted by a staircase. One half has a drop tiled ceiling, the other half has the stucco ceiling. Basement is dry with carpet over cement floors. Looking for TV room, possibly extra bathroom, ideally with fireplace. High efficiency furnace recently installed but large vents still used, would like to have them replaced with smaller ones. Staircase needs replacing also.

I am looking to have built in book shelving put on either side of my fireplace as I cannot find something in the size needed. The space is approx 50 w 45 h x 10 d. Open shelving with paint grade wood finish to come to just under the mantle. I am looking for a quote and maybe some pics of some work you have done of similar jobs. However we are also wondering if we can have one side slanted to hold a flat screen tv unit in the corner. The wall to the right on the right side of the fireplace currently holds our tv with a console unit underneath. Its not a large family room and if there was a way to have the tv placed on a built in with cabinet doors on the one side we would consider this as well. laminater flooring reinstallation
jad laminate flooring put in recently, but contracter left gaps in between some planks.When I questioned as to why there are gaps, he said that they are in as much as possible. decking the backyard
We just moved our above ground pool to create more room for a deck in uour backyard. Now that the pool is moved and the dirt piles are now scattered we need to build a deck. While my husband and neighbours would love to DIY it comes down to time. I want to be able to use the backyard as quickly as possible and dont want to wait the month it would take them to DIY. older home (100+ years) with lathe and plaster walls. two rooms plus front hall with about 730 square feet total. floor in both rooms is finished with laminate. House is heated with hydronic heating. We would need one of the heaters re-positioned so a qualified plumber would be required. house has original trim and we would like to keep it. work to be done: tear out existing lathe and plaster, insulate, replace with drywall. replace existing acoustic ceiling tile, replace with drywall and reposition lights/install pot lighting. currently each room has one center light. create built in bookcase/storage against outside wall - roughly 18 feet feet of wall with a bay window.

Finishing (part of) Our Basement
Long story short, my wife runs a home daycare, I was going to finish the basement, but we just had our 2nd child and I haven't been able to devote the time needed to the project before she takes kids back... We're just looking to finish the project to a point where it is safe for kids to run around... This job is time sensitive and would like it to be completed by Oct. 15th. It's a 4 year old house, approx 800 sq ft basement, but the area that needs finishing is approx 600 sq ft. I'll work on areas that have been walled off another time (incl. the bathroom). Two identical bathrooms with the same requirements: Bathrooms contain tub, toilet and cabinet sink. Open square footage for tiling is roughly 25 square feet. The space is pretty small. I'm looking for online rough estimates which would include work and materials, except for tiles and toilet which I will purchase. Also dates available to start job and estimate on completion date. Convert garage to bedroom
We are needing to quickly add a bedroom to our house - our original plan was to have the garage (around 12' x 18') converted but the first contractor we had in pointed out a potential nightmare with mold coming in from outside. We want to get this done ASAP and the contractor we called earlier has not been responding to calls or emails and nothing has been signed thus we are still able to shift. The goal is to add a window where the garage door is, and insulation with carpeting on the floor and a closet (around 6' x 3'). We need options on how to fix the outside wall where the mold is coming in from as without that fixed there is no point in doing the renovation. If other options exist (adding to the outside of the house) we would be open to it. The house was built in 1983.

unfinished basement, 7 years old about 700 square feet. We would like steel posts, due to asthma and allergies with kids. basically walls on the exterior of the basement, open space with 2 steel posts and closet space for storage, electrical , with pots lights, ceiling tiles, carpet probably or other material and good sound proofing insulation with a two piece bathroom (sink and toilet, maybe shower( only if budget could accommodate. Also would like to have baseboards and crowning moulding to complete look. Would also like to maybe commence in the early fall. basement insulation and old metal chimney removal
We have a crawl space about 300 square feet that has blown insulation, suspended from the ceiling. We need the insulation cleaned out and disposed of. We also have a metal chimney running through this crawlspace, from our furnace to the second floor of the house. This will also need to be removed/disposed of, and the hole in the wall of the basement properly patched. We have had two basement insulation companies come out to provide a quote on insulating the basement. They would not provide insulation removal due to how tight the area is. Sinking fireplace Causing Structure Issues
Our house is a raised bungalow built in the early 1970's. It has been determined that the fireplace in basement is sinking, caused a great deal of stress on our home. Cracks are evident throughout the interior of the house, in virtually every room and are quickly becoming worse. The floors on the second level are showing obvious signs of sloping into the area where the fireplace is below. The concrete floor around the fireplace in the basement is also cracked in a semi-circular pattern. We are in need of having the fireplace elevated and stabilized.
