Window Replacement & Deck

In our 1950's bungalow, we are looking to replace a row of 3 windows that only start at eye-level with a large window and a patio door leading out onto a small deck. Creating the opening for the larger window and door will involve cutting through stone as the exterior wall is clad with natural stone up to half height (finished by a thick stone ledge running around the house) The deck will be a straightforward rectangle of about 7x12 feet, no steps. I'm thinking of pressure-treated wood for the decking and a white (composite?) railing. The site is in our front yard and fairly accessible.

Install a new outdoor receptacle

Residential (25 year-old house) I would like to install a new outdoor receptacle on a dedicated line and breaker. There is a free breaker slot in our electrical box so that's not a problem. The outdoor receptacle would be about 6 feet from the electrical box and the wiring would go through an unfinished part of the basement. The receptacle would be placed on an outside wall covered with aluminum siding. The wall is not protected from rain (no significant eaves) so the receptacle used should be very water tight to avoid breaker tripping. The receptacle is to be used to power computer, audio equipment and possibly small appliances (low amp). Thanks for submitting a quote

Back Yard Landscaping Needed - Landscaping and Dog Proofing

I have a long, narrow back yard (110 x 17ft) with a small patio and flower beds along each side. My dog has killed the grass at the back end and the remaining grass is not great. I'd like to do a major overhaul on the back which may or may not include the installation of river rock in the back 1/3, plus new sod and reshaped flower beds. Possibly will include the installation of paths from front to back that the dog can run on. I will purchase and plant the perrennials and prune the existing trees. A limitation on this job is access to the back yard. It is a townhouse with right of access through the neighbor, however heavy equipment and too much tracking of heavy loads could damage his property, which I'd like to avoid. Ideally, heavy supplies such as stone, sod and soil deliveries could occur over the back wall, as I back onto a major road so access is easy. Please contact to arrange a time to view and quote. Ple

Seeking Durable, Attractive Countertop at a Reasonable Price

Looking to have an 21 square foot countertop installed, and have seen some reasonable prices with Engineered and assembled/tiled granite countertops. The current thickness of the counter is 5/8" inches, however I would prefer to save costs than attempt to match this thickness down to the millimetre. The site is a condiminium built in 1970, and the currently the cabinets are supporting the weight of a laminate only. The counter fits into an L shape, and will have a double sink installed at an angle into the bend of the L. The main counter surface is 82.5" long by 25.5" deep, and the L is formed by an attachment of 34.5" long by 25" deep. The corner is filled out on a 45 degree angle. Multiple quotes are preferred, taking into account cost savings that can be realized by using a thinner countertop, material/colour selection, and the option of purchasing the sink bowl and having it installed by you/your company.

Backyard patio and privacy wall

We have recently purchased a house in Nepean (new construction), and we are looking to add a patio with landscaping in our backyard. It's a relatively small yard (26'x26') and we've already paid a certified landscape designer to provide us with a drawing. We have a couple of minor changes we'd like done, and the drawing/layout can be sent via email. The overall specifications are as follows: - Completion date, ASAP, or no later than June 1st, 2013 - Square patio (approximately half the size of the backyard, 12x10) with walkway to gate (around existing deck) - Patio uses Permacon Trafalgar stones, mostly the square pavers, arranged diagonally - There will be a garden at the back fence, along the patio, which will have a few key plants/bushes/trees (to be determined, and installed by landscaper) - The garden will be flush with the patio, with no container wall - The garden will contain a cedar privacy wall, approximately 7' tall with a minimal decorative design - There is an existing raised cedar deck (which is mostly just a walkout with stairs). We would like to enclose the bottom of the deck to use as storage (with a gate). - The existing downspout is diverted underground with a "popup emitter". Keeping the water away from the patio and the house. We are looking for a quote for all of the work, including landscaping/gardening as well as suggestions for the trees/plants. We would like the work to be completed as early as possible. Feel free to contact me and I will provide you with a drawing of the proposed patio/landscape features as designed by another contractor.
