We're considering installing a rooftop deck that needs to be accessed from the 3rd floor attic (approximately 250 sf), and a skylight or two (one in the attic room and a 18" wide skylight in the washroom, we have the skylight sun tunnel).
If you are able, we may consider having a small washroom in the attic room, but it only requires plumbing for a sink and we would add a compost toilet.
We're looking for solid skills, references, quality, reliability, affordability, and good clean up.
Thank you for providing your estimates and a brief summary about yourself or your company. |

Bathroom Fan Installation |
| Type: |
Residential |
| Location: |
Toronto, Ontario |
| Main concern: |
Quality |
| Budget: |
Uncertain |
| |
|
Project Description: I live in an apartment building with some quite bad property managers, and want to circumvent their system (i.e. no repairs, and shoddy repairs when required) to install a bathroom fan that will manage the moisture in our small bathroom 7'3" (W) x 5'(D) x 7'10 (H). The existing fan does not do the trick, and black mould in the bathroom is the result. There is a healthy layer of dust behind the vent, and just beyond the fan, as well.
I would ideally like to pick up something with low sones that can handle this bathroom size. I know there are models that can gauge humidity within the bathroom and auto-operate when necessary, and would be interested to know if that is a possibility as well. A quote for installation with and without the humidity gauge ability would be appreciated.
If it helps, the current fan opening is 10" x 10".
Thanks,
Josh. |

Project Description: Hi all,
I have an older house in Toronto; the house is less than 1200 sqft. it was tenanted but now I want to sell it.
The house is a semi; 3 bedrooms 1.5 bathroom; 2 story plus an unfinished basement. The house needs some work: demo, stucco the front of the house, do a little landscaping to get some curb appeal, install new hardwood floor for the living room hall and kitchen (approx 900 sqft). New carpet laid on the stairs (approx 15 steps). Re-glaze the bathtub. The ceiling has plaster which has cracks so we would like to re-drywall the entire house. The house is severely lacking in heat (poor insulation) so we would like to fix that too. New galley kitchen, nothing fancy, just neutral Ikea type stuff.
I'm looking for someone to guide us through the reno ASAP. I would like to have this house sold by Aug!!! |

Project Description: I'm planning an addition to the side of my house that measures about 5' x 13' which would tie into the existing house at 2 points. Preferably I would like to do a 4' block wall to support the addition. It would come out 5' from the house then run 13' and tie into the house again so it would be 18' of block wall in total. What would the ballpark price be for something like that?
As an option is it within code to support the addition an a beam supported by concrete sonotubes? And if the floor is supported like that what's the best way to finish it off to grade and insulate it properly? |

Price |
| Budget: |
$20,000 - $50,000 |

|
Project Description: I'm looking to build an eco friendly home. The home is a very simple structure, all wood construct, with a very small foundation. The design is based on the following. Home footprint 20'x40'x9-18'
The Aero House.
The wood frames which consist of engineered wood are combined tightly and they are arranged at intervals of 45cm to 1m. The wood frames which is covered by the plywood make "semi-monocoque structure" similar to aircraft or ship. By changing the type of sill, the building can adopt to the various ground situation. The width of the space will be about 6m without columns. The structure is stable yet simple, and thus you can construct the building in short period with reasonable cost. Because it is a solid structure, you can also carry it by a truck. A 2-storied house or a 3-storied house can be built using a unique box structure as well.

Project Description: Hi,
We have about 300-400 sq ft in our basement. The laminate flooring was removed so now it's all concrete. We don't really care about polishing -- we are just wondering how much it would cost to clean, seal and paint it? The floor is in pretty good shape.
We will likely be using rugs later on, so we're just looking to have fresh paint so it's easier to clean in the future.
We are located in the Eastern / Carlaw area.
Please let us know - thanks! |
