Project Description: Hi There, Just want to know what exactly would be involved with re-grading the front of our house. The lawn is shared with the neighbour and our property over the last few years has been gradually sloping towards our garage. Drainage is not good. There are now noticeable gaps from where the step from the house meets the walkway. We thought we'd move the pathway over a bit so it's not so close the the garage wall. Is a permit needed b/c the step from the house may be affected? I'm willing to do any labour, reuse the walkway stones or purchase new ones. I'm also looking for the most cost effective way to get this issue fixed but quality is very important too. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Martha

It was a pleasure working with JD and his team at Khalsa Construction. I hired them to create a basement walkout for me. JD was able to use his expertise to provide suggestions in terms of the location of the walkout, the type of frost protection that we should use and the dimensions of the walkout that we should aim for. I was thoroughly impressed with the job that was done. He and his team even made sure to address all issues that were of concern to me in a timely manner. I also appreciated the fact that JD was very easy to get a hold of and he'd return calls as soon as he could. He made sure to keep me in the loop of things. All in all, it was a great first experience working with a contractor. He and his team have definitely set the bar for others to come.

I hired a bad contractor, why should I do?
can somebody help me? I hired a bad contractor. For almost 2 months now, my basement is not done yet. He doesn't show up anymore, he blocks my calls. the bad thing is I've almost paid him for everything.

What is the average price to have original wooden strip flooring sanded and redone?
My son just purchased a home in Orangeville and the floors need to be sanded and redone. Before he goes out and attempts to do it himself I thought I would see what it costs to have a professional do it. As well, what is the time span for sanding, staining, top coating and drying? There are about 5 steps as well as the floors to be done. Sincerely, Robert R

Mark is correct in that there are a couple of variables pertaining to refinishing floors and the range is correct although in some cases the cost can be as low as $2.50 psf. Stairs will be extra. Regards, Kingsway Construction Inc Glenn Rosborough
