The Latest Reviews for Contractors in Brantford

5 Star RatingComplete Care Contracting - located in Brantford

Our roof leaked during the end of winter. It really wasn't in budget at this time. We talked to several contractors. Jay came across as honest and seemed to know his business. He worked with us and gave us the best materials for our money. I thought he did an excellent job, the valleys were perfect! He helped us choose a material that improved the look of our house. My neighbor who is highly critical actually commented on the workmanship. I was floored. I would highly recommend Jay for anyone tired of being ripped off and wants professional results. He has all our future business.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! In February of 2011 we had a roofing leak and used Jay and complete care contracting. It took over 1 month to finish the job after many delays for 'personal reasons' such as family issues, truck breaking down, other equipment breaking down, and just plain no-shows. Our siding was damaged during the process and well as our neighbors BBQ. Jay promised to fix both right away and it is now Aug with NO response from him despite numerous attempts. The roof is supposed to have 10 year warranty on it. Alot of good this does when your contractor will not return your emails and phone calls. I would NEVER recommend this dishonest company.

Cherry hardwood floors
We are going to get our cherry hardwood floors redone. They are only 5 years ols but scratched from our dog. We will be contacting a few contractors from here shortly. I have always hated these floors due to every print & piece of dust shows on them. Sure they look beautiful for 5 minutes after you wash them. All it takes is for one of my kids, husband or dog, to walk across them & they look like they haven't been washed in years. I would never get them again! I need to know, since we are getting them sanded & stained again, could we do a medium stain instead of the dark stain? How would it look? I know cherry floors are known for being dark, has anyone ever stained them a lighter colour with great results? I'm concerned about how the grain of the wood would look. If there are any pictures here of cherry wood stained another colour could someone kindly direct me to them? TIA

Thanks so much for your advice James. We are getting these floors done as we are selling our home. The dog will have to be banned from the living room & bedrooms until we move. These are real cherry wood floors unfortunately or we'd rip them out. You have been a great help.... Thank you

New windows in double brick reno project
Ok to the point. Fully gutted reno job, tar paper against brick on the inside to help with moister control (between brick and bat insulation). Yes or No ?? Second? New windows being installed...do I need to frame rough openings before new windows are installed? Will be building 2x4 walls apprx 1 inch from brick walls or where ever plumb is away from brick walls for clearance.

I would use house wrap instead of the tar paper, just make sure you put in on in the right direction. I would also frame the brick in 2X wood, you'll get a nice square opening and you have something to attach the window too. Spray foam all the openings in the brick first, also use a window tape/seal for extra protection. Pushing the window as far out as possible is not the most energy efficent, but it does give you a very deep inside window sill. To me it just looks better.
