| Project Title: | Removing VERMICULITE Insulation from Attic, and RE-Insulating. |
| Type: | Residential |
| Location: | Edmonton, Alberta |
| Main concern: | Price |
| Budget: | $5,000 - $20,000 |
| Project Description: 1160 sq. feet in size, bungalow. Age of home is 55 years old. The attic insulation consists of wood chips, upon which there is a layer of VERMICULITE, and then fiberglass insulation. The vermiculite has asbestos in it, and needs to be removed. I need to get a quote for removal of all the current insulation in the attic, plus Re-Insulating the attic with either fiberglass insulation or blown in insulation (whichever is cheaper). Also, I will need a written certificate after the job is done, that the attic is now Vermiculite/Asbestos free. Thanks, Sam |

Jason installed a dish washer and connected a new kitchen sink in my 61 yr old house. Despite unforeseen problems in dealing with 61 year old plumbing, Jason was able to make the connection but improved it so i works better. No more clogged and slow draining sinks. Thanks.

In October 2011, my wife and I had Maple Tree Millworks install a Cabrina Quartz counter top, sink and faucet in our kitchen as well as a new crown molding over the existing cabinets. After choosing from a large selection of counter top patterns, Matt and his crew came in and used a computerized measuring tool to ensure a precision fit. I thought our project would be complicated as the top had to be cut to fit around a corner and I was worried the joint would be visible and unsightly. You can not see the seam at all. We are very impressed with his quality of workman ship and attention to detail. Our kitchen looks amazing now. Thank you.

Acrylic stucco
We are getting our new garage and older home covered in acrylic stucco. The contractor just finished the final color coat, which he rolled on, to our garage, but has not started the house yet. My question is on parts of the exterior wall you can still see the mesh through the color. Is this okay, or did he not apply enough of a scratch coat. He sub contracted and they applied the first coat of mud, and then he trolled the second coat.
Thank you for your help.

This looks like an old thread but I'm interested in finding out if the mesh should be visible after the second coat of base prior to the acrylic going on (in many places like around the windows the mesh completely sticks out). Also does the base coat need to be smooth or can it be rough and marred? Will this appear through the acrylic? Thank you in advance. The Latest Reply
Hi Jason. Fixing the grade around your house will depend on a few things. 1) How far down has it sunk? Is it just a few inches? Or is it more? If it is just a few inches I would add some topsoil and the compact it really well. If it is closer to a foot I would investigate why the grade started falling first. 2) Why has it sunk? Is your home newer, say 2-5 years old, or is it older? With newer homes the soil sometimes is not compacted properly, this means that over the years it starts to settle lower around the house. If your house is older, you may be looking at whole different problem 3) Is it just in one area or around the whole house? If its located just in one area it mean be that it just settled that way, but if its the whole house you may have a different problem. I hope this helps Mo Energized Surroundings
