5 Star RatingA & A Masonry - located in Etobicoke
Review Posted by Kathy

A & A Masonry is an excellent company. Paul did a wonderful job of repointing the exterior brickwork - you can't tell the repair from the original brick. I am so pleased! I highly recommend A & A Masonry, and will be using them again to repair the cement steps/railing on the entrance to my home.

5 Star RatingBosca Electric - located in Etobicoke
Review Posted by Bernie

Besides the excellent quality of work, any extra work that we requested during the project was priced fairly and performed quickly. We also found Behrid to be trustworthy and had no qualms about having him working in our home while we were away at work, etc.

Shower Stall Base Leaks
Our bathroom was renovated in 2009 and a new shower was installed. However there are persistent leaks in the corner where the shower base meets the wall and the baseboard. There are pockets of mould around the tiles and base. We have tried several times to clean and re-cock the areas and the problem persists. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much, Andrea

Drywall should not be used around water, concrete panels and proper waterproof membranes are required. Might have to remove the walls and floor area to seal it properly. Electrilight Ltd

Basement Wall Insulation
I bought an old home (over 50 years old) where the basement foundation was made of blocks. I'm planning to finish the basement myself and definitely could use advise from the experts. I notice existence of efflorescence sporadically on the basement walls but did not find any cracks nor water penetration from the outside. I'm planning to put 3/4" durofoam insulation on the walls and fiberglass on top of it. Question: 1. Should I put vapour barrier on the walls before the durofoam? 2. Can I put vapour barrier again on top of the fiberglass insulation? I'm planning to cover the walls with gypsum drywall and was told not to put the vapour barrier on top of the insulation. I would greatly appreciate your advice! Thanks! Andre

Andre, Your concern is not lost on us. We work with a top quality home inspection company for many of our projects as well as basement sealing specialists. We recommend 2lb Spray Foam. At 1.5" it is a vapour barrier and moisture barrier. It is rated at R6 per inch. We only use the best product called Polar Foam which is 5% Soy. I hope this helps you. Warm regards, Robson Eco Insulation York Ottimoliving
