Solar panals for heating hot water??
We just purchased our home in January-but that's a whole other story :( anyways, the heat source we have is electric hot water heat-great heat but expensive (montly power bill in the cold months of about 550-600-as opposed to about 175-200 during the warmer months....we're looking at putting in some solar panals to heat the hot water, thus lowering our montly power bill by having the solar panals heating the water....just looking to see if anybody knows anything about this kind of thing??

BTW, there is a government rebate program in place upto 1250 for installing solar water heater and also drain water heat recovery system. if you need help with it. you can contact me or also can visit the government website ecoenergy.gc .ca thank you Atticare

can somebody help....
I'm about at the end of my rope. We just purchased our first home in January, and since then it's been an ongoing nightmare with lawyers, contractors, ect.... as it turns out the previous homeowners hid significant damages and less then 2 weeks after moving in we had a flooded basement...turns out one wall of my house is pushing in...at this point we're tied up in the court/legal system but i'm trying to arrange to have repairs carried out on my home as soon as possible in the spring (as it's a foundation issue it's too late in the year to do it now) we're looking to redo the entire foundation, and know it's going to cost roughly 25-30 thousand dollars, however, we've got about half of that up front, we're trying to locate a contractor who is willing to work with us, once the work is completed we'll be able to take an equity loan out to finish paying for the job, however, with the state of the foundation now, it's only worth about half of what we owe on it :( it's been a real mess. I live in Fredericton, New Brunswick, if anybody has any thoughts/ideas, or knows somebody who can help can you please let me know. we'd be REALLY grateful :)

I am also here in Ontario but I feel your pain all the way, One question...Why did you not get an inspector come in to thoroughly check this home out before buying?
