5 Star RatingSW Contracting - located in Mississauga

Working with Scott was a pleasent experience. Not only was he fair with pricing but the quality of the job was evident. I was redoing my bathroom, replacing my tub, shower valve, toilet and vanity. All the tile had to be removed, the dry wall needed to be cut into and drainage moved. Scott worked relentlessly. He was very clean and respectful. I'm absolutley pleased with everything.

This contractor kept on demanding payment without doing the work that he said he would do. He went 1 week beyond schedule and when we wouldn't pay him the remainder of the money (because his job was incomplete and done very poorly) he started screaming at us. The job was promised to be completed by April 30th and by May 4th, our grand opening date he was still walking around the store doing work around the girls trying to prepare for a grand opening at 6pm. He seriously hampered our event and left the back of the store unfinished. Tiling job was horrible, not level, chips in ceramic tile everywhere, paint job is ridiculous and needs one more coat. Tiles are missing in back, he has left trim outside of the bathroom door, no doorknob on the bathroom door a...more

5 Star RatingM & D Buildings - located in Mississauga

We contracted M&D Buildings to complete a renovation of our ensuite bathroom in March 2012, and could not be happier with the results. Mike was punctual and professional right from the initial contact and quote process, which immediately set him apart from the competition we encountered. The bathroom project was a complete gut-and-replace and the project was completed on-time and on-budget. The tile work completed by Eugene is exceptional and several grades above the original work. The final product is exactly what we envisioned and wanted, and everyone that we've shown the bathroom off to thus far has been impressed. I wouldn't hesistate to recommend M&D Buildings, and would certainly look to Mike again for any future projects we need completed. Thank...more

What is this and is it a problem?
Hello, I was out in my backyard today and noticed this thing sticking out from the side. I have noticed this before and never questioned it until today because it looks like it has been pulled away from the house. I tried pushing it back into the wall but it wasn't moving at all. I'm worried that because the hole in the wall is exposed water would be getting into the house. My husband is away and I'm completely oblivious when it comes to these things however i would assume its connected to the furnace or the dryer...not sure? I've attached a picture for you to get a better idea of what it is and if there is a problem that needs to be addressed. If this does need to be fixed, what should I do or what type of contractor should I call? Any help you can provide would be fantastic!

Most, if any damage would be the journey of water (down and below that point). Animals and other insects could have made a home in there as well. Water could have made its way into the basement, but should not have caused costly damages. You can be certain that whoever you call back in they will probably not admit to the damages caused by them. Best get in touch with your insurance company right away and notify them. Chances are the fireplace will have to come back out to be repaired properly. Electrilight

Painting precast stone sills around exterior window and door frames...
Hi there... my wife and I are building a house and are looking at using either precast or limestone around exterior window and door frames. The cost for limestone is 3 times more expensive than precast. My wife does not like the 'Grey' look of precast around the exterior window and door frames. Is there anything that can be done to the more economical precast to achieve a cream colour look to match the exterior window and door frames. If there is another potential option, I would like to hear it. We would like to have the sills protrude out from the wall. Thank-you for all your professional opinions.

Hi Rick, Yes absolutely is the answer. Pre-cast concrete can be coloured in the mix when casting. Any of the good pre-cast companies will do this for you. They even have a colour that mimics limestone very closely. We use it all the time in the homes we build. Again, this is done by the Pre-cast company during the manufacturing process, not afterwards. They also will etch the piece to very closely match limestone. The company that I use is in Mississauga and are listed in the yellow pages. You will be happy with the results. Best of luck Jason Irving The Cedarbrook Group
