| Project Description: We purchased an older cottage (approx 30 yrs old) with a newer addition (addition approx 10 years old) The addition is built on a slab and consists of a 20x16 recroom with cathedral ceilings, and a 22 x 12 garage attached to the recroom. We are looking at adding a second story to the new addition, which would include three bedrooms, and two full baths (one being ensuite). We know what we are looking for as far as a floor plan goes, but we are not sure if it is possible to add on. The current heating system is oil fired hot water. The exterior is staggered vertical wood (not sure of exact design term). We need an experienced contractor, preferably with experience of second story additions.
