Electrical panel
Is it legal and safe to put an electrical 200 amp panel directly in front of a water pipe?
I bought a house and the panel is beside the main water shut off then there is a pipe coming from that to an outside tap. I have to put my hand right behind the electric panel to shut the water off.
I would appreciate any advice I can get if this is safe.
Thank you

Is it safe? Yes. Is it against code? No. Is it worthing doing something about? Likely not. Is it a good practice? No. Cheers John Kuehnl-Cadwell Master Electrician Datawise Solutions Inc.The Latest Reply
Hi Shawn, I agree completely about the engineering and permits. Cantilevering floor joists require a lot of work to tie back into the existing floor structure in order to make it safe. Concrete pads, posts and beams are the same. With moisture concerns on the Island, protecting from water penetration is vital to say nothing of the requirements for fastening the new structure to the existing framing. With that said, I have just moved away from Nanaimo and can recommend some reputable contractors that are more than capable of assisting you with your project if you're interested. Send me an email at dickinsoncontracting1@gmail .com and I'll be happy to send you their names. Kelly Dickinson Dickinson Contracting Penticton, B.C.
