Do I need special tile for shower walls?
Just wondering if I can use the same tile that I'm putting on the floor to surround my shower. I have 16"x16" porcelain tiles.

You can absolutely use the same tile for your shower walls. Using shower mesh (thicker) and thinset coat the joints, flats and inside corners. This prevents water from leaking through the joints. The grout if sanded must be sealed. To apply the tiles use a thinset or modified mortar. Grey thinset dries faster a white will give you more work time. Your first course the bottom has got to be perfectly straight. The Latest Reply
