We found Rene Rozon on the internet after a less than satisfying encounter with another Contractor who we had also found on the internet. Suffice it to say we approached Rene with extreme caution considering our experience with the other contractor. From the start, Rene, who personally came to evaluate the project, was not only frank and honest with our potential options for our kitchen vision, he provided excellent advice regarding alternate points of views contrary to what we originally had. He proposed sound advice, and his first estimate, which of course was "ball park" , ended up extremely close to the final amount invoiced for his work. We recently hired Rene Rozon to do a major renovation at our home. This included redoing all the floors on the main level, the entire kitchen, 2 bathrooms upstairs and two sets of staircases. You can imagine that short of building a new home this is about as significant a makeover as you can do. We chose Rene Rozon based on the reviews we had read as well as after several meetings to discuss the project and to plan it out. This project has turned out exactly as we had hoped. This is our second project with Rene Rozon Construction, we had a hardwood floor put in downstairs in the family room and office. The advice given to us was invaluable, the project turned out great. It was started on the agreed date and finished within the time frame we were told. The house was spotless every end of day,Rene also made sure our dogs couldn't get into anything when they were not here. I can't wait for our next project with Rene as it is always a pleasure to work with him. John

How Handy Canadian works is once you have posted your particular job or renovation needs all contractors with in your postal code receive's a e-mail. Please try and be realistic about your budget. If you have a complete bathroom to be redone and you put down a budget of $2,000 and want it done in 2 weeks chances are you will not get anybody who has a Licence, Liability Insurence or the skill to do a project like this. You will get some one who has no idea what they are doing, or get there foot in the door just to start the job and start hitting you for extra's. Most reliable contractor's who have the experience can tell you from the start what it will cost up front simply based on doing so many of them. The old customer mentality of trying to get other contractors to under bid each other or promising more work if you do this one for cheap are long gone. Any successful contractor has based his company value's on quality material and pride in workmanship.If he or she has been in busness for years it's not because they use below quality materials or labour from the local high school.Please be realistic with your budget, Ask to go see what they are working on now, go see something they did a year ago, two years ago. From there you will be able to chose a contractor that is right for you.

Great advice...too often I see ads on here stating that only the lowest bids will get a call back. What do they expect when the reputable contractors will never be the lowest bids. You get what you pay for, and if you want the lowest bids for your renovation, then you will probably be on the next episode of Holmes on homes.
