Arrangements to view property can be arranged, but might be little time constrained as sellers are still living in the house and I don't want to impose too much. Waiting to hear from seller when I can have access for quotations. Need quotes this week to submit for renovation mortgage, work to begin 1 June 2012 - and finish asap - before we can move in. If possible - I would appreciate if I can get estimates/ballparks on the points above, asap so I can submit it to the bank. If viewing is available, then quotes can be finalized. Please also supply estimated time to complete. Thank you Riaan

5 Star RatingJames Mae Group Inc. - Construction Division - located in Spruce Grove
Review Posted by Joanna

I have been working with Ben Hunter since 2010 on house repair items that have ranged from indoor carpentry, minor plumbing, exterior mason work, eavestrough and ceiling repairs. Ben believes in having quotes created up front so that the customer is aware of the work involved. He also takes the time to ensure the customer’s opinion and needs are addressed while the project is underway. He stays in constant communication with the customer so that there are no surprises with the work performed. The ability for Ben to have familiarity with many trades is a very valuable trait – this makes him versatile and helps him think ‘outside the box’ with projects that may seem daunting for some. He is a very hard worker and has a great attitude; I would highly recommend Ben to othe...more

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THESE CLOWNS. They are totally UNPROFESSIONAL, UNRELIABLE, and with no concern for customer service or company image. I have no idea how they stay in business.

Very pleased with the courteous service and professionalism in preparing the estimate and presenting the invoice. The work was completed with great care and attention to details so that everything was done just right. I was provided with options and then given the best prices possible for the project. I will definitely use them again and I would recommend James Mae to my friends and family. Catherine

What type of countertops do you recommend?
I used Granite Transformations for my kitchen countertops and wish I had gone with Silestone. Granite Transformations "reface" your countertops. They have some positives and negatives in my opinion. It does look good, but it is not as shiny as granite countertops I have seen. If I had to do it over again, I would have chosen Silestone.

The Latest Reply

Natural stones like granite are porous thus needs maintenance. quartze is non porous and very durable and no maintenance needed. Avex Construction and Design 514 961 2322 Laval, Qc

old asbestos tiles
I need new flooring on the second floor of my two story house. Must I remove old asbestos tiles or can they be covered with the new flooring.

The Latest Reply

Here in Quebec, having the tiles under another flooring covering might well be considered as a "hidden defect", (and you can be sued for conditions like that up to 7 years after the sale of the property), so it would be best to have it safely and professionally removed and disposed of in accordance to the laws of the province you live in. In light of the fact that laws pertaining to hazardous materials are often under revision in each province, this would be the most prudent action to take, regardless of the current legalities. My 2 cents for what it's worth as a homeowner.
