Kitchen make over!

I have a rather small kitchen (approx. 100 sq ft) that is in need of a make over. What I am looking for is replacement of all cabinets, counter top, and back splash. As well, removal of a small pantry to extend the counter and cabinet space. My house was built in 1989 and is considered a starter home. My thoughts for the kitchen are quality, nice, and reasonably priced. Not low end, however, not high end either. The current state of my kitchen is exactly how it was when built. At this point, I am looking for quotes and am serious about having this project take place as soon as possible.

Basement Window - Needs Lintel?

I had three basement windows replaced last year and one of my windows is now losing concrete about it's self. There was likely a crack that was letting water in (I found some in my basement drop ceiling at this window this spring) and when the water would free it seemed to be breaking off the above concrete. This specific wall is load bearing, and these windows were not enlarged when they were replaced. The home was built in 1987. If you look at my attached photo you can likely see that the concrete about the window is very small and that there is wood now exposed where the concrete fell away. (High Res Image: http://www.ignoreandscore.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/windows.jpg ) I'm trying to decide If I simply need to seal this exposed area to keep it water tight/free or if I also need to add some type of metal lintel about the window as well. ~ Robby
