Bradbury Architecture - located in Vancouver
Review Posted by Claudette
We hired Bradbury Architecture in January 2010 to design an additional level to our house. The following list SOME of the problems we had: - The permit application not submitted until August - 7 months later - to do a job he originally told us would take 2 weeks. During this period, Robert was frequently unavailable, would not respond to emails or phone calls. He was consistently late with EVERY deliverable throughout the project. Attention to detail was horrible – I had to highlight to him that he didn’t include upstairs heating, laundry room connections in the laundry room, etc. - Construction did not begin until Sept. - typically a VERY rainy month in Vancouver - we have now spent over $20 000 for labour and materials associated with the rainy season ...more
Hartwig Builders - located in Vancouver
Review Posted by Bob and Betty
We found Hartwig Builders through a Google search and, at short notice, Wycliff reviewed the work, presented us with a quote and arranged to do a deck renovation at short notice. He did a wonderful job and we are delighted with our new deck. We certainly would recommend Hartwig Builders to others although we don't want him to get so busy that he won't be available for us (LOL).
Hartwig Builders - located in Vancouver
Review Posted by Kevin
I recently had a renovation job done by Wycliff of Hartwig Builders and I would definitely recommend his work. Wycliff was a real pleasure to deal with. He showed up with two days of contacting him, gave us a quote and then began work the following week. Wycliff was very helpful by coming up with creative solutions to problems specific to our build. The construction area was left clean every night, he showed up when he said and the job looks great now that it is completed! He is a professional at what he does and takes pride in his work. I have had work done in the past by other contractors who I would not recommend however I will definitely contact Wycliff again if I have any more work to be done in the future!

Wanting to know cost of Moving a doorway in home.
Hi.
Our home is a Vancouver special and we have a room in our basement that you enter off the laundry room. We would rather the entrance to this room be the rec room beside it. This would involve closing off the entrance from the Laundry and putting a door in from the rec room.
How much would this reno cost?
Would we need permits?
Thanks.

It depends on if the new opening is in a structural wall, materials, etc. But ballpark should be $750 - $1500. Yes most likely you need a permit, because you are changing the structure of the house. The Latest Reply
