We hired Rob's Design and Renovations to finish our basement (owner/operator, Rob Beer). Rob took our deposit and took off with it. The subcontractors that did do work were never paid. The basement remains unfinished with no word from Rob. He stole from them, and from us. Rob Beer is a thief; do not fall for his stories and excuses. For further proof, do a Manitoba Courts Record search, online and for free (www.jus.gov.mb.ca/Domain/FileSearch/SearchByOtherInfo.aspx)...and you will find that a number of victims have taken Rob to Small Claims Court to try and get back money he took from them. Need to install a Basement egree windows
My house was built in 1978. Need to install an egress window in the basement for a bedroom. No idea on cost or who can do this type of work. Can I do some of it to lessen the price as I can do some basic work at my house (plumbing and electrical). Please send me some guuidance.

Hi Ken, The work that you were asking of is including a few separate things. First the well has to be dug and a pipe with a sock has to be inserted until under the foundation. Then the hole has to be filled with stones and gravel on top you have to leave space for the cement cutting machine (concrete saw ) then you fit in the well wall (usually metal ). Then cut the wall and install a lintel on top. Install the window and finish inside the basement. Some of the window companies will do it start to finish other will send you to do the ground first and then they will come to deal with the windows. Just wondering what it might cost to build a 550 square foot addition onto my garage. The garage is attached to the house and has a pitched roof.
