Tony from Kingsway Home Improvement was the best contractor we could have hoped for. When quoting the job, it was immediately obvious that he was much more competent and serious than the other contractors were. He spent a lot of time detailing the various stages of our renovation and coming up with a precise schedule and cost for the work. Although we had a few unanticipated setbacks (entirely not his fault), he was on time and on budget.
However, the trait that I liked the most, which I don't think you will find elsewhere, is his attention to detail. On multiple occasions, I would see something that I was not completely happy with. In almost every case, he had already spotted it and had one of his guys correcting it before I had to bring it up, or if I did bring it up, it was corrected immediately.
We had a huge renovation. He renovated 3 washrooms, removed a load bearing wall between the Family Room and Kitchen, changed a laundry room into an office, inserted a gas fireplace into a wood fireplace, removed and refinished a monstrous stair railing with over one hundred pickets, added a 6' by 5' island, re-shingled our roof and replaced 2 garage doors. It took more than 3 months because there was so much to do, but his guys were there every day and HE was there nearly every day. He wasn't a "ghost" contractor that you hire and is rarely there doing work.
As well, we had some special requests for the schedule that he was very accommodating with. We were redoing the flooring in the kitchen so needed to lose our kitchen sink and dishwasher for this to happen. We have two little kids, so this was rather inconvenient. We asked him to minimize the down time and he had our kitchen sink back and working in one week, which was an incredible feat.
You should feel confident hiring Tony and Kingsway Home Improvement. I talked to a lot of his references before we started our job and everyone had high praise with no negatives.

Late last year, my wife and I decided to do a full bathroom renovation and remodel our basement. This was the first major home renovation that we ever did and after watching all of the disasters on Mike Holmes, we were very concerned.
Well, after meeting with Tony from Kingsway, we decided that he matched our requirements. Well, when Tony and his crew arrived on the first day, we had already tried to protect other areas of our home from the dust. Tony and the crew came in and further sealed doors and put up plastic throughout the house to try to minimize the dust. We were very impressed by this! It demonstrated a true commitment to doing a great job.
Throughout the whole job, we continued to be positively surprised: over the 4 weeks of the project, the crew was there daily. Tony made sure that there was minimal downtime. I was totally unaware of the permit requirements. Tony took care of all of the permits and inspections.
The quality of the work was excellent. We had a number of trades including plumbers, electricians and painters. All of the work was completed exceptionally well and quickly. Invariably, on any project, there are some changes required. There were some issues that we had with the electrical and the plumbing that were unknown at the start of the project. Tony made sure that things got done properly and reviewed with me the impact on the project budget. For example, we had a broken sewer pipe in the basement. Tony made sure this got fixed quickly and very cost effectively. We did not even know we had a problem!
We also made some “change requests” during the project. Tony was able to accommodate these changes in a very cost effective manner.
The part that impressed my wife a lot was that at the end of everyday, the crew cleaned the work areas to minimize the impact on us living through a reno.
I would not hesitate to recommend Kingsway Home Improvement for any potential renovation!

Tony and his professional, hard-working crew, have just completed a major renovation of our front entranceway. Tony planned and supervised the project from start to finish, ensuring that his team did an exemplary job. He kept us advised throughout the project and consulted with us on a regular basis to ensure our satisfaction. The team was courteous, friendly and approachable, and the end product was over and above our expectations. We have received several compliments on our new entranceway from our friends and neighbours, and I have absolutely no problem recommending Kingsway Home Improvements Inc. to them for any of their renovation or home imrovement needs. We will definitely use their services again if required.

Everything a good contractor should be! Gave us a detailed well-explained quote and stuck to it. Didn't try to up-sell the job. Set a date, came, did the work well, cleaned up completely, left. Tony and his team were efficient and professional and friendly and very courteous. We'll use Tony again, and recommend him to our friends.

We found Tony on this website for our basement renovation. We were very impressed with his professionalism and willingness to work with us on changes or additions. He was on time and on budget and always made sure the place was clean and tidy when the crew left. We would definatly hire Tony and his workers again.

We had a great experience working with Tony and his crew. After having trouble with a previous contractor, Tony came into the job and right away put us at ease. He was very professional and was able to work within our budget and kept to the time line. I would recommend his company to anyone needing a contractor and would use him for any future projects we may have.

Tony and his crew came out and performed some drywall replacement and did a great job. Tony made sure everyday before leaving the area was clean and all garbage was put in the proper place so not to track all through the house. He was on time and called if there was a delay. Several months later we had Tony take care of some tile work and it looks great. No problems or concerns, he treats you as he would expect to be treated himself.

Tony and his crew were a delight to work with. They were helpful, creative and commited to our project. When we had a minor repair a year later they returned immediately to fix a broken stair. I would not hesitate to use Kingsway Home Improvements again or to recommend them.
