Office Renovation

BUYER BEWARE Joey Catroppa from UNDER THE SUN HOME RENOVATIONS is a CON MAN. He does not pay his subs or honor his workmanship. I know because he did it to me. We recently did an office reno with CATROPPA. Once the project was complete, I asked him if all the subs were paid, he said "YES" and paid him his final payment of approximately $8,000. Project cost was over $40,000. Within days of paying him in full I started to get calls from subs asking if Joey was "away" on holidays as they could not reach him. He does not answer their calls or mine now. The subs are owed substantial amounts of money. He DOES NOT pay his subs in full. He does not honor is word or his workmanship. I had a heat unit installed by his crew incorrectly, if froze and broke the condensor. He said he would cover it and never did. I am out an additional $2700. I see from another post a client also got calls from subs not paid. BUYER BEWARE I WILL NEVER DEAL WITH CATROPPA AGAIN AND I HOPE OTHERS HEED MY ADVICE. I have paid all sub Contractors this customer Tim was happy with all the work completed and failed to paid the final balance in full, there was extra work added on to the bill which Tim failed to pay for.

Joey sub contracted the work out after he was unable to complete the work himself to our backyard. The sub-contractors did a reasonable job given the state the job was left in by Joey's crew, but then Joey didn't pay the sub-contractors even after I paid over $12K (with a hold back of $500). The sub-contractors were owed $2400 and then put a lien on my house. Prior to him subbing out the work, his crew stole lumber from the site and my rake and shovel.

Kitchen Ceiling Leak

Our first experience with Joey Catroppa was amazing. We called him about a leak from our kitchen ceiling, within a couple of hours he had the problem investigated & fixed by his plumber. The next day the drywall was also fixed in the kitchen ceiling. Due to the excellent & prompt service, we commissioned Joey (Under The Sun Renovations) to renovate our kitchen & the first floor. So far he took many hours of his precious time to research the best products & prices to suit our needs!! He is in constant touch with us & with what's new and available on the market. Judging from the pojects he has worked on & his proffesionalism, we would not want anyone else to be in charge of our renovations!!

Under the sun home renovations and custom home building was founded to apply the extensive construction knowledge and experience from building new homes to the new home and renovation design business. Over time, the company changed and adapted to new market opportunities. Utilizing the skills and experience of the principles, to develop into a single source design/build construction company.

For many years, the source for quality custom home design was architects. The only other source was home designers, adapting existing plans. These custom services were costly. Under the sun home renovations and custom home building changed all that. Using the benefits of CAD and Smart Draw 2011, UTS began providing custom home design at little more than the cost of stock plans. UTS then applied their natural interior design skills to the homes of clients UTS has designed .

UTS has evolved dramatically from its garage-based beginning twelve years ago, skills lie in collating talented people and organizing projects, intermeshes more than 18 years of construction experience with UTS design and coordinating talents. Window covering, furniture, carpeting and ceramic tile also fulfill extra levels of service for their clients. UTS efforts are pivotal in casting the company to the forefront of the custom building/home renovations industry. UTS has had numerous articles written about the company's projects in a variety of print publication and has been interviewed on both radio and television.

Featured on the cover of the December 2010 issue of Canada's largest Home Renovation magazine: "Homes And Cottages" magazine. Copies of the magazine are steadily available on request.
