“We chose Mike and his team to renovate our 1600 sqft basement for our rental property at Richmond Hill, Ontario late 2012. Mike was one of the three contractors that I reached out to for a quote, and we chose Mike because they had the most professional approach to the project and immediately we knew that we could trust him and his trades.

We can't say enough positive things about them. The crew was on time every day and extremely respectful, friendly and professional.

We were pleased to hire M & D Builders to finish our basement, they always stayed on budget and took the time to explain exactly what was been done and why. They pay attention to details of the design, and they clean up properly and finished the job on time.

I would not hesitate to call Mike for any other work around the house and I would definitely recommend their team and services to anyone.

We hired Mike and his team to build a 3 peice washroom in our basement. Mike responded to emails quickly and there were no additional surprise charges. We did choose to add a few features after that, and the price was fair and accurate. The washroom looks great and we were pleased with Mike and his team. We would hire them again for any future home renovation needs.

I met with a number of contractors for our flooring project before deciding to go with Mike. Mike was prompt and professional right from the start. He was the only who followed up after the initial visit and I knew he would be the right person for the job. His trades people always showed up when they said the would and informed me if they were going to be delayed. They worked quickly and efficiently, without compromising on the work. And they cleaned up after themselves. Redoing the floors in a fully furnished condo can be a hassel but they got it done with no problems! In the end, the project was completed on time and on budget and I couldn't have asked for better results. It has been an absolute pleasure working with Mike and his trades people and I wouldn't hesitate recommending him to anyone. I know who to call for my next project. We hired Mike Messihah to build a new washroom in the basement ( shower, sink and toilet ). After interviewing a number of contractors Mike came out as the winner due to his professional approach and his clear communication. We contracted M&D Buildings to complete a renovation of our ensuite bathroom in March 2012, and could not be happier with the results.

Mike was punctual and professional right from the initial contact and quote process, which immediately set him apart from the competition we encountered. The bathroom project was a complete gut-and-replace and the project was completed on-time and on-budget. The tile work completed by Eugene is exceptional and several grades above the original work.

My project involved adding an extension to my house in Toronto on May 2010. We had a tight time schedule to complete this project from drawings, which had been done by M & D Builders as well, till the project to be completed, and Mike was really very helpful to reach our time schedule goal. From the beginning of the project, Mike showed the knowledge, confidence and respect to my needs that I was looking for when I was searching for the right contractor.

Our experience with the M & D Builders has been a unique and fantastic one. From the initial interview to the final touch up they have impressed us with their friendly and professional manner. Each of the trades working in our house was well-trained, extremely polite and very helpful. It has been a great pleasure working with them - they always approached the project as if it was their own property. The suggestions they give are very helpful, and choices on materials are excellent. When we discovered some unexpected complications, they always managed to find nice workarounds that were more than satisfactory, while without going over the budget. I will definitely contract Mike for other jobs in close future.

This was the first time I worked with M & D Buildings, and it will not be my last if I need work done again. They were knowledgeable, accommodating, and fair with pricing, professional and had great ideas about how to tackle the challenges we faced. I had received 10 quotes in total, prior to hiring Mike, and I found them to be fair and honest and easy to talk to. M & D stayed on budget, as this was a factor. They were there everyday, working hard. Mr. Messiha was very easy to get a hold of, and all my calls were returned very quickly. Anything I asked to be redone, touched up, was done without any hesitation at all. I would highly recommend his company.

We hired Mike and his "team" to renovate our home, and as the communication started out well it slowly declined as the project continued. We brought up concerns with our dry walling, cleanliness of the house after trades, and his overall supervision of the project - everything was dismissed. The house was left a complete mess time and time again - drywall drippings on my carpet, scrap pieces of wood all over the house, nothing was ever swept and a common lack of concern for existing structure and finishings that were being left untouched. Its been months since the renovation and I now have walls that are cracking because of the poor workmanship. In addition, I found the overall supervision of the work site to be very poor. There was no communication between trades and if my husband had not been present at some of the jobs we would have been left with some very questionable finishings - more specifically the height of our island (bar height). I would not recommend this contractor to anyone.

My wife and I had Mike and his team complete a few tasks.

- Widen load bearing wall (rough in).

- Install door to garage through cement blocks.

- Install proper ventilation in cellar

- Install proper door in cellar (rough in).

- Have a structural engineer assess my floor deflection and structure.

All items were completed to my liking in a timely manor and at a reasonable price. When i need more work completed i will be looking to hire Mike and his team again. For references email me at signup@glofcheskie.com.

M & D were quite good, from their initial visit, to the quote, install and completion. Everything was done according to the time lines indicated in the contract and Mike was in contact to ensure that work was proceeding to our satisfaction. I am very pleased to write a comment about this contractor on the work he did in my home, 2009. (5535 Waterwind Cres., Mississauga, ON, L5M 0G4) His work was excellent in all areas-renovation, addition and electrical. His price was very reasonable compare to two other contractors whom I had the quote. He and his workers finished the job on time as promised. They removed all the resdue and kept the place clean and tidy. There was no damage due to the transportation of materials in and out. I truly enjoy the beauty of his workmanship and it increased the value of my home.

I contacted M & D Buildings to finish my basement this summer and was very satisfied with the process and the results. The quote provided was fair and reasonable, and all the contractors/trades brought in to do the work were very professional and qualified. Time was taken to review and understand my specific needs and requirements and the contractor was willing to work with me throughout the building process to allow me to customize things according to my specifications. This collaborative and flexible process worked out well for me, since I had very specific design requirements that needed to be modified from time to time due to various issues during the construction process, and I also wanted to purchase many of the finishing materials and fixtures myself and have them do the installation. The specific trades brought in do the specialized work (e.g. electrical, plumbing, tiling, and painting) were all experienced and courteous and easy to deal with. Throughout the entire renovation, work was done according to schedule and I was kept informed of the progress. The work was completed according to the quotation, and any changes that I requested throughout the project were addressed in a fair manner. Overall, I'm very happy with the work that was done, and would recommended M & D Buildings to family and friends for their upcoming projects.

There is not much more to say than how incredible it was to work with Mike and his team of successful workers. I was looking to hire a team to renovate my house kitchen and bathrooms, and hiring M & D Buildings was the best choice. I found them to be flexible, honest, patient, and very willing and co-operative in trying to make the situation work as best as possible - and within budget! Mike from M & D Buildings completely retiled and replaced the dry wall around the bath tub after a few tiles had fallen off due to moisture damage. As the tiles could not be matched Mike went out of his way to find similar ones for a very reasonable price. The work was done in a professional and timely manner. All the old dry wall & broken tiles were taken away leaving a beautiful bathroom. The other bathrooms were regrouted to avoid a similar situation. The tennant took pictures and I was extremely happy with the result. I live in a different province to where the work was done and it is important to me that I can trust a contractor. I would definitely recommend Mike from M & D Buildings and would not hesitate to contact him in the future. He will give an accurate an honest assessment at a reasonable price.
