I have dealt with many contractors in the past and as a result of some negative experiences, I have learned to appreciate top quality service when I see it. Paul is top drawer service. The start date was delayed as a result of his previous job going over time estimate. This happens in the business. That aside, paul's professionalism is outstanding. A proper contract was provided, to protect him as well as the client and it is explicit in the scope of work. He listens well and goes to great lengths to ensure you are fully informed. The quality of the work is excellent and he pays attention to detail. I had a small issue with the reinstallation of the toilet and he came and reinstalled a new one that I provided at no cost because I felt the installation wasnt done right. Customer service is paramount with Paul and he realizes repeat business is key. He is sincere, honest, professional and competent.

Paul's company installed porcelain tile on my kitchen floor. A number of minor problems were encountered not the least of which was a very non level original floor. Paul's crew were professional in every aspect. The lead hand Chris was always willing to answer questions or make suggestions. He obviously cared about what he was doing and over all quality was his goal. This was the second job Paul's Contracting has performed for me and I am highly pleased with the end result in both cases. I have no doubt I will hire them again in the future and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

We hired Paul to do a small plumbing job for us and he did a great job! He offered us a fair price and stayed within budget. He was very friendly and courteous.

It's not always easy to trust contractors, but we felt at ease with him right away. We had a scheduled day for him to come and do the work; unfortunately he got stuck at another job and couldn't make it but he came by our house to apologize personally and came to do the work the next day, even though it was a weekend.

We will not hesitate to call him for future work - we were very satisfied.

This review is for a basement bathroom. The room was completely unfinished (plubing not roughed in) and was small with an awkward shape. Paul's Contracting broke up the floor, installed the plubming and fixtures (shower, sink, toilet), installed and mudded dry wall, sectionned off area with a wall with double folding doors for access for maintenance purposes, installed ceiling fan and installed a tile floor. Here's a bit of a break down as to the different aspects of the job.

Estimate: I had several contractors come to my house to provide an estiamte for the work to be done. Paul's contracting was by far the best. He understood exactly what I was looking for and told me what he could do to see that realized. His inspection of the area was thorough and informative for me. He actually measured off the area, took pictures and made a sketch while he was at my place. You'd be amazed how many contractors didn't go in depth and confirm with measurements, that they could do what they were saying they could do. Paul got back to me in a timely manner with an estimate of the cost (lower than the other 4 contractors) and a diagram of the area with locations and measurements of the fixtures.

Contract: He had the contract done up shortly after and personally went over it with me. It was simple, not too wordy and made sense. I felt like everything was out in the open and there wasn't any hidden meanings or fine print that would possibly lead to a disadvantage for me. He was aslo very flexible and it wasn't difficult to make changes. We decided to paint the walls oursleves and there wasn't an issue with it.

Workers: Paul had an experienced worker (Fred) assigned to my renovation and he remained the primary worker the entire time. He was really nice and kept me in the loop with everything that was going on. He told me what he was working on for the day, and at the end of the day he gave me a run down of what he had done. The labourer that assisted Fred was the same guy each time as well. They were both very personnal and clearly competant to do all the work they were supposed to do and the quality of their work was great. Their mess was cleaned every day, and there was never an issue with them what so ever.

Communication: Paul is very easy to communicate with. He made regular visits to the Job site and was always accessible to speak with. We made a couple last minute changes with bathroom fixtures and things went very smoothly.

Timeliness: I didn't have an issue with the timeliness of the work. Completion was delayed a little, but only due to the requirment for city inspections which I nor Paul's Contracting could control.

Overall: The company is a competent, legit and well run business that clearly cares about the satisfaction of the client. He understood that I wanted to spend the least amount possible for the work I wanted to be done, and made that happen without sacrificing quality. His estimate was very well detailed and beat all of his competitors. He keeps in touch with clients and knows what is going on with projects. I'd highly reccomend Paul's Conracting to anyone looking for a basement bathroom renovation.

Paul was friendly and courteous. He and his crew removed their shoes to enter the house. The work done was very well done and his part of the job was finished in a timely manner. He came to do the work when he said he would and stayed to finish the job. i would recommend Pauls Contracting.

We contracted Paul to completely renovate our bathroom. From first interview through to completion of the project, Paul was courteous and responsive. Our contract was very detailed and easy to understand. The quality of workmanship was extremely high. The project started on time and, even with some changes requested by me, the project was completed on time. Paul spent a lot of time working with us selecting materials and designing the new bathroom layout. We are extremely happy with the result and everyone who visits raves about the new bathroom.

Pauls Contracting did top quality work for us. You could not find a flaw if you tried. Tthey were friendly and on time. We upgraded two bathrooms and some work in our kitchen. We used Paul's Contracting to build an accessible washroom for our disabled son on our lower level, along with some other items such as replacing flooring, doors, a tub in another washroom etc. It was an extensive project, involving gutting the old bathroom and building the new one from scratch. We are extremely pleased with the quality of the work, I have 100% confidence that the job was done well, to code, with no surprises to be found later. Paul ran into many unexpected surprises in our 40+ year old home and rather than cover them up (as previous contractors had obviously done) he fixed them, much of it at no additional cost.

Paul was extremely helpful during the design process, sugggesting many things that we had never thought of in regards to functionality for our son. The process of arriving at an estimate and then a contract was very thorough and professional.

The crew that worked on our home were very professional and friendly, and while no one likes to have strangers in their home on a daily basis Paul's crew was a pleasure to deal with.

Four our first experience in home renovation I would say that overall it was a very positive experience. There were snags along the way but Paul was very accommodating and we worked them out to everyone's satisfaction. We will definitely use Paul's contracting again, plans are already in the works!

This is our second home, and our first fixer upper. We have usually relied on family members to assist us with various products but instead of bothering them again decided to hire a Contractor through RONA for the home renovations. We were very skeptical considering we have had friends who had nightmares with Contractors but RONA's guarantee put us at ease. They sent over Pauls Contracting and he was very polite and really took the time to listen to our future plans and current ideas that we wanted done to our home. We were finally ready to go ahead after a lengthy process of finding exactly what it is we wanted.

Paul's Contracting relied on a number of tradesmen that attended our home and each one was extremely polite. We were doing two jobs an approx 200 square foot main hallway and the main washroom. The main hallway was completed within a week and there was only a couple tiles that were not completely flat (but the floor and tiles looked beautiful other than that one minor error). We understood that if we wanted that repaired we would have to let them tear up the entire floor and start over something we both were not eager to do. We accepted the floor as it was but refused anything less than perfect for the washroom.

This mind set tested not onlly our patience but Paul's company. The 1st time it was completed there were tiles offset and the chaulking job was not pleasant to look at. We asked that they reapir their mistake which without complaint was done. When we examined it after the 2nd time we saw that the tub was chipped and some minor damage done to the tiles around the ones repaired. Paul came in and said he would make it right. And he did. He himself came in tore out everything bought a new tub and redid the entire job himself. The work he did was near perfect.

Although what we started feeling was a nightmare Paul corrected and did so without complaint. We are very pleased with Paul's Contracting and given our first experience with a Contractor would not hesitate to call him again to work in our home. We have already referred him to close friends of ours. We at no time felt unsafe or concerned for our property while they were in the home. He stood by his work,his employees and vision. He was truly a gentleman.

Paul and his crew renovated two bathrooms in my house at the same time. Not an easy task! Paul dedicated his time discussing various design elements even before I signed on and was extremely patient through all of my questions; especially when I changed things up on the fly. The result is two beautiful bathrooms completely different from one another and exactly what I wanted. Paul demonstrated his true colors a few weeks later when he came to pick up some left over tiles, and left 3 hours later having fixed a sump pump that had stopped working and filled my basement with water. He couldn't leave me in that predicament to figure it out on my own.

Choosing a contractor when you are not in the business, or have never done renovations before can be tricky. You want to find someone who will care about the qualify of the work as if they were doing it in their own home, and who you can trust for their expertise and honesty. Paul will be my contractor ....period. He isn't fussed by how large or small the job is; he is genuine and the real deal. Thank you so much Paul!

Paul Counter does very nice work, but his time management is extremely poor. It was in our case. I am extremely happy with his workmanship and the end result of my renovated bathroom ... BUT, a toilet in my living room for weeks and having had to be told to move it, and approximately 2 months in my home for a project that should have taken about 7-8 days. Like I said, his work is beautiful, if you can stand the wait!

We bought our 70's tudor style home 16 years ago and I immediately saw it's potential to be different, a one of a kind. I especially wanted a powder room, and a welcoming front entrance. Over the years this dream didn't seem possible.

The team that Paul has working for him are considerate, thorough, polite and tidy up consistently. I have had other contractors and the men were sloppy, swore, were loud, untidy during the jobs and left messes and won't be hired back or recommend to anyone.

I recently had a large addition completed by Paul and his capable crew in Barrie Ontario. Paul himself, was on the site each and every day, supervising and giving guidance to his employees. From beginning to end, I was impressed by his professionalism: from his detailed contract to a complete outline of both the scope of his work and the description and specs of the quality materials that he intended to use, along with beginning and end parameters for the work process. Whenever there was a substitute of materials it was always higher grade than specified. Numerous other sub-contractors who visited the site commented on the stellar workmanship and attention to detail they observed. They said I had "a very sturdy durable addition that would long outlast the rest of my structure".

Paul was always prompt and whenever there was an unavoidable delay he always contacted me well ahead of time. Paul's budget was reasonable and fair. In completing a 900 square foot renovation, Paul and his employees were punctual and professional. Alterations were made to comply with new city building codes and Paul was diligent in keeping the cost within the agreed budget.

The workmanship was stellar as Paul is dedicated to customer satisfaction and explaining the renovation process. His understanding of the customer included useful items that were not required such as a bathroom fan with a timer and an extra vent near the ceiling to remove excessive heat.
