Is it hard to replace a jack post, the one that is currently in my basement, the support that goes through the post is just catching and the previous owner put tek screws around the circumference so it doien't go any lower.

Warren, its not difficult if you rent some temp. jack posts from a rental place and install them under the area that you are going to remove. Once properly shored up you can install a new jack post, but I must advice you to have a professional do it. Better for the insurance issues.

Thank you for your reply. I did hire a professional to do this task. He actually kept the old pin, to show his boss. He could not believe someone would cut the pin htat is supporting the house.....
