Hi,
I have a garage that is not attached to my house. I do not like where it is located and would like to move it closer to my house. It sits on a cement pad and is wood not siding/not insulated. The size is 1 1/2. Has a single garage door and passage door. It has roof trusses. It is not on blocks (would like it be though) My question is can I cut the bolts, jack it up with several jacks and roll it on pipes forward - should I use a crane (costly) or tear down and start over? Size approx 20ft length by 15 feet wide.

Any suggestions would be welcome. If anyone has any idea of costs could you include them. I am just wondering how feasable it is to save the existing garage. It is in great shape by the way.

Hi Lynda, with respects to moving your garage, i would budget to spend $2-$6k to simply move it over to where it needs to go. Plus the site costs, such as grading, gravel, site access, temporary site improvement etc..... There's an old saying "Never mix new money with old money" and what that means is although you will potentially save 50% of the hard costs for the garage replacment your still stuck with an old building, and typically older buildings have older styles built into them. We would entertain the idea of undertaking a project like yours. Please advise.
