We have recently had our stairs redone with carpet on the stair treads only. We have white melamine risers. The problem is that the carpet is rather bumpy where the carpet meets the riser. Any suggestions? Do we install another riser on top to tuck the carpet? Do we install stained quarter rounds to act as stair rods? Any advice?

there probably shouldn't be any visual problems being that it is freshly installed, but if to choose one id say go with the quarter round, adding another riser mite give you some nosing issues. 11/16 stained or smaller quarter round can give an elegant look if done right.. good luck!
