Project Description: Hello,
The next project we have is to redo our Kitchen. It may sound easy but we are living in an old house which we start discovering problems sometimes behind the walls. Right now our Kitchen is fonctional but we do need to re-structure a little bit the kitchen to gain more counter space and more storage space. As we speak right now the dishawer is hiding in the pantry. Not sure why the previous owner did that but it doesn't make sense. Our goal is to move the fridge into that space and have the dishawer closer to the sink. By doing this we are going to have more counter space. Cubers has to be change - too old to be re-finished. We are also thinking having wood floor which I already choose at home depot and won't be discontinue. It's burch and will be going with the flow of the house through the dining room later on for my next project. Crown molding will be as well in place. Lights through the ceiling will be added to probably a maximum of 6 or seven. I am as a woman pretty handy. I did my sewing room by myself including installing the carpet. My fiancee took care of the lights. We are pretty handy but we are also very busy. However, Kitchen is a big project and I can not do this alone. I am willing to remove the cabinet if this can save me time and money. Like Mike Homes say I want to find somebody who can do this right. Because of the knowledge we have in renovationation there is not much that can pass us. We are good people but we want to do this right. We are not in the rush to do the kitchen. I rather take my time to look at my option and see what I can do. The kitchen of my dream is white with all cuber up to the cealing. The last cuber close to the ceiling will be cuber with glass with a spot light inside to give an effect. Counter top is marble. Microwave will be above the stove. Fridge would be cover with a panel. The floor I choose already would be installed before the new cubbers comes. Kitchen window will be change but I do have already my suppler for this. The kitchen could be very expense. This is the place that you can blow your buget. I am fully aware and because of my knowledge I do not want the most expensive kitchen but a very functional classic and reasonable kitchen. It's a matter of choice and time. Some may be offended but it's with time and good communication that good people have good services and are happy of the results. I do not know yet how much I want to spend in a kitchen but I do know, the kitchen I have will be around 15 thousand. When people do business with me, I am a true person and I am a fair person with a big heart but I know what I want. It's not about money it's about doing this right the first time. Thank you Julie |

Project Description: I have a small 2 bedroom home (980sq ft). It was placed here in 1946. It has a dirt basement. The foundation walls are starting to crumble and the home is starting to move a bit. I was thinking of renovating it and maybe put a new basemant under it, but have given more thought to just rebuilding it. I love the area and would like to stay here. It is a narrow lot, so I would like to have a full basement with two levels above it. The house would need to match the existing older homes in the area. There are some two story homes on the street and it would definatley fit in. I would invite any and all calls to review the project scope. |

Project Description: I am interested in a long (rather than wide) 2-car garage with a 1 bed/1 bath suite above it. It would run North-South with a single door on the north end, two double doors on the East side, and a pad the runs up the east side. Cars would be parked nose-to-tail facing South. There is an existing garage on site, but unless your price is very low, I will likely do the demo myself. I look forward to hearing from you. |

Would be ok with finish work on the surround to just be drywalled and plastered and made ready for painting. Project Description: We have a 1970's home with arches by the front door. One of the arch supports has risen and has pulled the overhang away from the house. We need some one to come in and fix the arch support so that everything is level again. Perhaps, depending on the cost, we would think of updating the arches. |

Project Description: Master Bedroom shower is directly below a basement shower... noted water on the floor of the basement shower and had determined that it had come from the ceiling by the basement shower... soft drywall when touched... removed a section of the drywall and noted that water / soap markings was present on the outside of the drain pipe from the upstairs shower.
Checked the upstairs shower and the drain cover was easily removed...the caulking seal had been breached... rain the shower at that point and check downstairs to see if leakage was occurring... it did... Cleaned the drain cover area and re-caulked...
Concern now is...after looking through the basement hole that was cut out...it appears we may have mold growth...
The center floor beam is running directly next to the shower and provides the anchor for a wall that acts as the shower wall... the dry wall from the that wall above the ceiling is soft and has showed some possible growth of mold... 10%..
The area is complicated due to fresh air venting, build in vacumn pipes etc are present...
Alumumin ceiling track is the base for which the basement bathroom ceiling is attached...there is some signs of rusting on one of the tracks approximately 8 inches away from the basement tiled shower ceiling.
When looking in the opposite direction... above the shower tiled ceiling it appears that perhaps a black mold, wafer layered, is on the center floor joist back 8 inches away...
Noted that a section of the grout about 8 inches from the entrance to the shower on the ceiling next to the wall has been cracked and a possible source of moisture to exit from...
Shower walls were a concrete board - aqua board...ceiling should be the same...
Need to knows... do we have a mold concern... if so...what would the costs be for the removal of the same. Repair costs to original state. |

and is the best source of leads that we have. Since we listed
with Handy Canadian (December 2005), we've signed contracts
on over $400,000 worth of work - that's a pretty good return
on our advertising dollars, and is unsurpassed by any other
advertising that we've done so far. In fact, as we've built
such a network of referrals from the business we've received
via your site, we no longer advertise anywhere else! "
