Project Description:
the home we just bought was built in the 60's and the last bath reno's were done in the 80's. 3 baths to tackle. We'd like to concentrate 1st on the master bath- small..with a vent that only vents to the attic..some musty (likely mould problems) smells.. a large tile shower that needs to be completely replace, ugly flourescent lights that need to be changed. An extensive reno on this bath...but we could keep the vanity and opt for just a new drop in sink and fixtures.. mostly concerned about venting, wiring and plumbing... could also opt for a one piece shower instead of all new re-tiling to save costs. other 2 baths need various work: replace fans, new counter/vanity/sinks/, new shower door and fixtures.. possibly build a wall around an odd pipe next to the toilet in the basement bath. lots to do. would love someone to come and give estimates on at least one job at time.. we are willing to go and buy fixtures and new lights etc.. just need qualified installers and contractors in the area of construction, plumbing and electrical. willing to start one job at a time..but would love to unify the 3 bathrooms with quality work and appearance. Thanks

The contractor will help with coordinating and/or performing: 1) Removal of a partial partition, non-load bearing wall in the kitchen area, that has phone lines and electric lines. Capping said wall at waist level to allow counter top to be placed on top (the wall is a right angle V shape adjacent to the end of the current counters.) 2) Coordinate and or perform the repair to the ceiling this removal will cause, plus addition of pot lights over new counter tops. 3) Removal of old vanities in both bathrooms together with new toilets and mirror cabinets. Project Description:
To build a floating work surface in a nook at the top of my stairs. The space is 64 inches across and the surface should be 28 or 30 inches deep and one and one half or two inches thick so it has some dimension. Prefer wood construction - not mdf - possibly plywood with veneer surface (?) which will later be painted to matchthe baseboards and trim. I plan to add a piece of 6 ml glass on the surface to prevent scratches. Not necessary to include painting the desk and adding the glass in the quote. Drawers are not required. Needs a hole in the surface for electricals (laptop, lamps, etc). Note: The nook has three sides - two 36" high pony walls and an exterior wall all drywall. Price, quality appearance and time are ALL important. $1000.00 is too high for my budget should be in the middle range of the $500 to $1000 category.

Project Title: Remove concrete driveway, install sub-base and permeable driveway
Job Number: HCA18532
Type: Residential
Category: Exteriors
Subcategory: Concrete
Location: Maple Ridge, British Columbia
Main concern: Quality
Budget: $1,000 - $5,000
Project will be started in: 2 - 4 weeks
Requires financing: No
Project Description:
The driveway is 16'W x 80' L and basically level.. It is concrete on what appears to be a dirt sub-base (no gravel). It is badly damaged by tree roots and has horrible drainage. I want it ripped out, a proper sub-base put in, and the driveway replaced with something permeable to water, I am leaning towards permeable concrete but will also consider gravel. Cost is an issue, but I want it done right and don't want to replace with asphalt. Contractor should remove old driveway; I may consider splitting up removal and installation into 2 contracts.

We are thinking of a partial remodel in our ensuite bathroom. Our home is 17 years old. We have an existing shower insert and would like to have a walk in shower done complete in tile (preferably). (There is one corner of our bathroom with a small patch of mould). Our ensuite bathroom is the original - no previous renovations done. The shower space is approximately 65" by 39". The entire bathroom is approximately 65" by 111". There is one small window which is sitting just outside of the shower right now. We are looking to have to knock down a partial wall where the shower head sits right now, put up a glass wall with a door and move the plumbing from where it is now to one of the other walls. We would also be replacing the vanity in this bathroom. We also looking at replacing the vanity counter in our main bathroom. It has a 60" vanity with a single sink in it right now but we are exploring the idea of a double sink in this space which would require some plumbing changes also.

" I must commend you on a very good service. I have found this service to be very good, with exceptional leads for potential work. "

- Don, M2C1 DESIGN
" As a Premium member I received my first lead notification e-mail for a bathroom renovation. I immediately decided to get in touch with the prospect. To my surprise he was eager to meet with me and an appointment was made for myself and my partner to visit his home and quote on the job. I was pleasantly surprised to find the seriousness and quality of this prospect was top-notch! Shortly after visiting the lead from HandyCanadian .... WE WERE AWARDED THE JOB! We were astonished at how easy it was...this first job has already paid for the membership! "

- Michael Klisouris, Second To None Renovations
" Your site has by far the best layout, and is the best source of leads that we have. Since we listed with Handy Canadian (December 2005), we've signed contracts on over $400,000 worth of work - that's a pretty good return on our advertising dollars, and is unsurpassed by any other advertising that we've done so far. In fact, as we've built such a network of referrals from the business we've received via your site, we no longer advertise anywhere else! "

- Bryan, Baeumler Quality Construction and Renovations Inc.
" I believe that the internet is the way of the future and I believe that handy Canadian is ahead of their time. Businesses are fighting to win customers to win a 10-100 sale. But here for less then 1 dollar a day can you receive hot leads to build your business. I love this service!!! "

- Leslie H., Toronto Home Renovation
