Project Description:
I have a textured ceiling that has been painted over, probably a couple of times. It has cracked at the joints in numerous places. I had a professional drywaller scrape the joints and re-tape them. Now I need someone to come over and spray and blend in new texture. I will then paint the whole ceiling after it dries. The house was built in 1975 so the ceiling is considered ACM so I don't want to disturb it too much. Also we are on a limited budget so that is why we are going this route. We need this done ASAP so if you can work this weekend then that would be awesome. However, during the week could work too.

Our yard is quite soggy and floods frequently. The downspouts drain directly against the house and our neighbors yards are both at a higher grade leaving us with constant pooling water. We had been looking for a solution to this when we found the foundation had already cracked. One of the bedrooms in the basement has two very large cracks along the wall and floor. It was covered with carpet and we only noticed from the constant stream of bugs and awful smell. I need my basement bath fixed up. New shower stall, probably new drywall around it and the studs underneath would need to be checked for water damage. New countertop, sink and toilet.
I also need new countertops in the kitchen and a new backsplash.
The upstairs bath needs new countertops, toilet, and new or refinishing of the tub. I need all new interior doors and casings (6 altogether). A new front door and the window beside it. All new baseboards and possible crown moldings. The entire interior needs to be painted and the deck railings and stairs on the back need repainting and I need new railings on the front stairs.
I would also like my fireplace to be looked at for new stone or tile and a mantel. I don't need granite countertops or anything just a nice neutral laminate and nothing needs to be too fancy, just want it to look nice and new and clean. It is very important to me that the work is done well and correctly (up to code).
Our house is for sale so I don't want to spend too much money so if I am open to suggestions about the items that are really required and which ones aren't as well as other suggestions that may optimize our chances of selling our home. I do have some exterior projects that need to be looked at as well, including some landscaping, fencing and one piece of wood on the side of our house needs to be replaced and painted and we may need gutter cleaning or new gutters. I appreciate that outdoor projects may need to wait for a few weeks though. |

Hi,
I am interested in a quote for a custom built-in in my apartment (concrete highrise located in Burnaby).
Dimensions: 44.5" wide x 15.5" deep x 8' tall (ceiling height)
Note that there is no crown moulding but there is baseboard moulding which is approximately 1/2" wide.
Ideally, I would like the bottom have an enclosed area with doors, above that a few small shelves divided into spaces large enough for wine bottles (I'd like space for approximately a dozen to twenty bottles), and the rest shelving. I would like the shelves to be divided in the center and they do not have to be adjustable. The unit does not have to reach the ceiling as I wouldn't mind an undivided shelf at the top for random things.
Material: The unit would need to be painted to match the wall colour so a furniture-grade plywood would be sufficient.

We live in Vancouver in a 105 year old 3 storey, 2100 square foot house in the Strathcona neighbourhood of Vancouver. We had a house inspection and when we went into our crawl space we found water. The inspector said that on one side of our house the retaining wall is not high enough, it does not go up the height of the dirt that is outside the house. Fortunately the wall does not bear the weight of the house, only the weight of the wall. The retaining wall seems to be cinderblocks and so it would just need to be built up.
We also need to have our two roofs and gutters replaced. That is the roof of our house and the roof of our garage. Currently there are asphalt shingles on the roof. We are open to asphalt shingles again or even considering other materials (metal).
