We have for the past month tried to get local contractors to do some minor repair work on a water damaged kitchen ceiling.  Realizing this was a small project we kept our enquiries to contacting firms who advertised they did small repairs.  I have to say I have had my eyes opened to the appalling behavior of these firms giving I'm sure the industry a bad name.  I was looking for honesty, meaning if you don't want the project let us know rather than saying you could do it and never showing up or saying you will provide a quote and that was the last we heard.  I am a marketing professional and know the first rule is reputation, obviously many of these companies do not know this is a key element in retaining business.
